Really enjoyed the final episode of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Though my previous concerns about the series continue, I’m glad we stuck with it. I do hope the programme makers balance things better in the second series though, especially the pacing. But yup, good finale.
Some extra thoughts (very spoilery):
Martin was thrown by the opening thing, gasping at the initial Sauron reveal. Which of course is undone. Crikey that white person changing forms repeatedly was ever so creepy! The approach to Numenor was so effective. Not so effective was the fight between the hobbits, the wizard and the creepy white people, where the visuals were muddled and confusing. Proto hobbit farewells go on as long as later hobbit farewells. The rings forging was also a bit overly long, but powerful.
